Prince Charles And Camilla’s Wedding Might Not Have Happened Because Of A Few Reasons

Date July 19, 2018

It’s hard to be considered the second person in something you do, but when it comes to being the third, it must be even harder.

Scandalous romance

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles' royal romance has been scandalous from the very beginning. It’s only today they are happily married and don’t seem to have any troubles. But back in the days, these two must have had some headache because of their affair.

The Duchess of Cornwall had to come to terms with the reputation of being "third person" in the marriage between Princess Diana and Prince Charles almost after their first meeting at a polo match.

Wedding drama

Still, their troubles haven’t ended after their wedding. It was only the beginning. In fact, there was even more drama happening on the very day they tied the knot.

Neither the Queen nor Prince Philip attended the civic ceremony, but they did appear at St. George's Chapel and the reception. According to Good Housekeeping, Robert Hardman, the Queen's biographer, reportedly said it was a sign of the Queen’s disapproval of the marriage.

Anyways, here’s how the Queen congratulated the newlyweds on their big day:

They have overcome Becher's Brook and The Chair and all kinds of other terrible obstacles. They have come through and I'm very proud and wish them well. My son is home and dry with the woman he loves.

The Queen’s joke

In fact, there’s another point to add to the Queen’s disapproval of the whole wedding thing. The Queen pulled a tricky joke when instead of a wedding toast she started talking about horses as she had just returned from horse races.

Anyways, now everything seems to be smooth and Prince Charles should be lucky to have a woman by his side who has been with him through thick and thin.
