Michael Cohen Pleads Guilty To Paying Stormy Daniels And Karen McDougal "At The Direction Of" Trump

Date August 23, 2018

On August 21, Michael Cohen appeared in court where he pleaded guilty to eight felony charges, including bank fraud and tax evasion. But charges relating to campaign finance violations might be of the most interest to Trump’s critics.

What are they all about?

The President’s former personal lawyer shocked those in attendance when he admitted he made payments to Karen McDougal, a former Playboy model, and Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress. Both women earlier claimed that hey had an affair with Trump.

Questioned by the federal judge, Cohen revealed he delivered $150,000 and $130,000 to each of the women "at the direction of candidate." Even though he didn’t use his boss’ name, it’s clear that the lawyer was employed by the President at that time.

It’s no surprise the 72-year-old was not happy when he heard the news

Earlier this year, CNN released a scandalous tape of Cohen and Trump discussing the payment to McDougal where the President asked his lawyer to "pay with cash." The conversation took place back in 2016, and you can listen to it in the video below.

How did the public react to Cohen pleading guilty?

Now, the lawyer faces up to 5 years in prison. We wonder how this news will affect the President.
