Kathie Lee Gifford Is Saying Goodbye To The 'Today' Show After 11 Years On It. But Why Is She Leaving?

When someone mentions NBC's Today, chances are that you immediately think of the charismatic hosts of the fourth hour of the show: Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. The iconic duo has been co-hosting it for almost 11 years, winning the audience’s hearts with their funny conversations.

Unfortunately, change is coming

As Gifford revealed in a recent episode, it’s time for her to leave the show. In fact, the television icon initially had never intended to work on it more than a year. It was the strong connection to Kotb that made her stay:

Both women barely managed to hold back their tears! Now, Kathie Lee still has many goodbyes to say to all the other crew members that made the show special:

When it's our 11th anniversary, I'm going to be leaving the “Today” show. "It's an exciting time for me, and I'm thrilled about all the projects that are coming up. But when is she going to leave and why?
