There might be a few reasons. First, historically, we bred dogs to be sociable, accepting, and eager to give and receive love. On top of it, if a canine is raised with other animals from a young age (from birth or shortly after), they form the strongest bond that is impossible to break.

And this little pup may serve as a perfect example!

Rookie is an energetic dog who became close friends with a large cow. In fact, the big animal was like a ‘mom’ for him. But one day, their owner decided to sell the cow off.

As you can imagine, Rookie was devastated. He barked and howled, crying as his friend was taken away. And when he heard the cow’s mooing in the distance, he ran down the street without any hesitation.

His owner was calling the dog’s name, but Rookie was determined to find his ‘mother’. He found her in another stall and started pawing at her face and licking her until the owner carried him away.

At home, Rookie looked lost and miserable. He lost appetite, so his worried owner decided to surprise the poor pup again – by bringing the cow back, even though keeping her was expensive for the family financially.

All’s well that ends well!

Still, there were some changes. As Rookie is a dog and needs social and survival skills, the owner also got another small pup – a new friend.

We hope they all live happily together. And such strong friendships only teach us, humans, to make better relationships with others as well.
