In one of the episodes of her Live show, Kelly Ripa got candid about her youngest son Joaquin’s disability. The matter is that Joaquin has dyslexia or, in other words, a reading disorder.

People with dyslexia have certain troubles in reading, spelling of words, and in some cases, in writing. Each patient is affected to a varying degree of the condition.

Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, have always been open with their fans about Joaquin’s health issue.

Kelly revealed her son’s disability several years ago to raise awareness about the condition and how to deal with it.

She said:

A lot of you that watch the show know he has dyslexia, so school has always been a very big challenge for us in our household.

Joaquin’s success at school

In one of the show episodes, Kelly got very emotional, talking about Joaquin’s success at school. The mother-of-three couldn’t hold back tears recalling how hard her son works on a daily basis in order to deal with dyslexia.

Kelly said that despite his condition, Joaquin gets only As at school and that makes her really proud of him.

During the parents’ meeting, Kelly couldn't help crying when Joaquin's teacher revealed how well he was doing at school.

Kelly added:

I am proud of him!

Her co-host, Ryan Seacrest, also grabbed a couple of tissues as he almost cried when Kelly recalled this emotional moment. Everyone in the audience also couldn’t hold back tears.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have three wonderful children, whom they are so proud of. And Joaquin’s example should teach everyone that everything is possible with a support of your loved ones.
