'Everything's Going To Drop': Courteney Cox Had Her Facial Fillers Removed And Decided To Let Nature Take Its Course

You’ve probably heard the expression: 'Beauty is only skin-deep'. It’s true that time is cruel, and there’s no way to slow it down. Oh, if only more Hollywood people knew it!
Sometimes, it’s hard to face the reality of growing old, especially if you’re always in the spotlight. Many Hollywood stars try to slow down aging with numerous cosmetic procedures, and the end result isn’t always what they had expected. Some of these celebs eventually realize that it’s best to let nature take its course, and one of them is Courteney Cox.
Courteney Cox, whom most of us remember as Monica from the hit TV show Friends, is no stranger to fillers and facelifts. But the actress told New Beauty she regretted having too much work done. She said:
I've had all my fillers dissolved. I'm as natural as can be. I feel better because I look like myself. I think that I now look more like the person that I was.
Courtney is 55 now, and she has come to terms with growing older and the changes it causes in her appearance. She said:
Things are going to change. Everything's going to drop. I was trying to make it not drop, but that made me look fake. You need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. Those aren't wrinkles–they're smile lines. I've had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend.
She came to this realization when a friend of hers pointed out how unnatural she looked:
I have one friend who was like, 'Whoa, no more!' I thought, I haven't done anything in six months. I didn't realize.
Part of the reason why Cox and other Hollywood stars have plastic surgeries and other procedures to look younger is their own desire 'to make time stop'. But there’s also pressure from the movie industry, where younger-looking actors and actresses are always in high demand.
When filming an episode of 'Running Wild with Bear Grylls', Courteney told the presenter:
I think I was trying to keep up with getting older and trying to chase that and it's something you can't keep up...because sometimes you find yourself trying and you look at a picture of yourself and go 'Oh god, I look horrible.' I have done things that I regret and luckily there are things that dissolve and go away and that's good because it's not always been my best look.
The actress is happy with the way she looks now, without the fillers. She is not averse to the idea of having other procedures in the future, but she 'wants to stay natural'. Well, good for her!
