An extraordinary family of ten

Remember that TLC show, Jon & Kate Plus 8? It first aired more than a decade ago, when Jon and Kate Gosselin’s twins were a little younger than 7 and their sextuplets were almost 3 years old.

Kate gave birth to twin girls, Cara and Mady, on October 8, 2000. The Gosselins welcomed their sextuplets – Aaden, Joel, Collin, Alexis, Leah, and Hannah – on May 10, 2004.

Although Jon and Kate love their eight children, their love for each other didn’t last. Their marriage fell apart in 2009, and they have been engaged in a bitter custody battle since their divorce.

Kate’s new show starts this fall

It’s been almost a decade since Kate and Jon’s divorce, and it looks like the mom of eight is back in the game! The new show about Kate’s life, produced by TLC, is expected to air this fall.

The show, Kate Plus Date, will document the reality star’s dating life.

Speaking to People, Kate said this is a safe way to date someone:

If I’m going to date someone, I can’t just go out on a date — it’s creepy to me to think of just going out somewhere with some stranger, and so I actually feel like doing it like this is the best and safest way for me to go on a date — a camera crew will be there! I’ll be safe! And the person will have been vetted by a matchmaker.

In the same interview, she spoke about the qualities she’s looking for in a man:

I do want someone with a set career, who is confident. A grown-up with their own life, their own agenda, who knows who they are. If someone travels for work, that would be great, because I’m used to being on my own and being self-sufficient.
