Sushi when pregnant?

Typically, Hilary’s fans are extremely delighted with the mother’s posts. However, recently, the actress made some of them a little upset, as she went on sushi during her pregnancy:

Hey Hilary is super risky eat sushi when women are pregnant.

Veggie only sushi I hope..., no sushi while pregnant.

Most of the fans, however, have hope that the fish was raw:

No I don't think she's stupid, and reminding ppl not to have raw fish while pregnant doenst imply that, I'm a RN, and see many, highly intelligent ppl, forget this, or think it only applies to certain things.

I'm sure she smart enough to know what she can and can't eat it's not like she is dumb or pregnant for the first time ever.

Sushi isn't raw actually. If it's raw, it's usually called sashimi and that doesn't look like it is.

Is it dangerous to eat sushi during pregnancy?

The American Pregnancy Association actually warns mothers-to-be to avoid any raw fish during pregnancy, as it may contain industrial pollutants and can be high in mercury. Raw food can also contain unfriendly bacteria, such as listeria or E. coli. It can lead to premature delivery, miscarriage, stillbirth, etc.

Experts don't recommend to consume types of fish that are high in mercury during pregnancy and even breastfeeding, as the chemical element can present itself in your milk and affect your baby.

Take care and stay healthy!
