Often, it feels like celebrities are not actual people, but it just not true. They feel the same range of emotions, breathe the same air, and go through the same horrible tragedies like, for instance, losing a friend. Dennis Quaid tears up after being asked a question about his late co-star and friend Natasha Richardson.

Who was Natasha Richardson?

You may know Natasha Richardson for her stunning acting career or as a beautiful wife of Liam Neeson. Or maybe, you remember her for the role of Elizabeth James in The Parent Trap, where she co-starred with Dennis Quaid and young Lindsey Lohan. Either way, she was indeed a talented actress, a beautiful and loving wife, and was great friends with Dennis Quaid.

Unfortunately, Natasha Richardson sustained a very serious head injury that led to severe brain damage in a skiing accident in 2009. She was just taking a beginner-level skiing lesson when the fatal incident happened.

The husband's grief

Natasha was transported all the way from Quebec to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, where the doctors tried to save her life. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do. The actress was on life support for some time to give an opportunity for her friends and family to say goodbye. Liam Neeson recalled the horrible events five years later in an interview:

She was on life support and stuff. I just told her I loved her, said ‘Sweety, you’re not coming back from this…’ She and I had made a pact. If anyone of us would enter a vegetative state, we pull the plug, you know.

Time heals very slowly

During an interview with Dennis Quaid, Megyn Kelly asked the actor about his famous female co-stars, including Natasha Richardson. The question obviously caught the man off-guard and made him tear up even almost 10 years after her death. David said:

She had those two boys, great husband, great family relationship… And just a joy to work with. And she was, like, a worker. No ego – none of that crap actors pull.

The life is sometimes sad or even unbearable. But at some point, the sun rises even in the darkest corners on the planet. Liam says Natasha is keeping three people alive by having donated her organs: her heart, her liver, and her kidneys. The husband believes she would be thrilled and pleased with this.
