Hugh Jackman vs. Cancer

Of course, hiding from the sun is not the brightest (sorry for the bad pun) idea, as the sunlight is the greatest source of vitamin D so much needed for our body. On the other side, it is scientifically proven that sun damage can cause skin cancer. Unfortunately for Hugh Jackman, he has already had 6 skin cancers cut out from different parts of his body.

Hugh Jackman has been fighting for his life since ages and not only on the screen but also in real life. The actor undergoes regular body checkups and tries to protect himself against the sun by taking any possible measures. This time, we can see Hugh in a full-body swimsuit, cute hat, and cool sunglasses covering the hell up from the shining giant.

First encounter with basal cells carcinoma

Hugh Jackman, the father of two, discovered his first skin cancer in 2013 after his wife insisted on checking one strange mole on her husband’s nose. Hugh recalls the terrifying events:

Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked. Boy, was she right! I had a Basal Cell Carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!

Basal cells carcinomas (BCCs) are abnormal nonmelanocytic growths or lesions on your skin. This type of cancer is one of the least deadly forms of skin cancer because it almost never metastasizes to the other parts of the body. BCC often looks like an open sore that just won’t heal and typically cause by regular sun exposure.

Hugh Jackman is alive all thanks to his wife and the following regular body checkups. The actor used to get burned a hundred times when he was a child. No protection, no sunscreen. And now, unfortunately, he pays the price.

Let’s learn from other people’s mistakes!
