"Like Seriously?!" Jeremy Roloff's Wife Audrey Opens About Intense Abdominal Pain That Led To A Shocking Diagnosis

Date June 13, 2018

Little People Big World star Audrey Roloff recently went through a scary medical situation and even ended up predicting her diagnosis.

Audrey's medical scare

In a recent Instagram post, Audrey revealed that she was "experiencing a lot of abdominal pain" in the past week. At first, she thought it was just due to work stress. But after a while, her instincts told her to get checked out.

When the doctors insisted she get a strep and pregnancy test, Audrey knew neither of these was the problem. It occurred to her that she could have Mono because she had witnessed her best friend battle the condition in college and she had similar symptoms to the one Audrey was going through now.

The past week I’ve been feeling so rundown and have been experiencing a lot of abdominal pain. I thought it was just from stress of working on the edits for our book, getting ready to travel out of town for a work trip, and Ember waking up in the night to nurse (which has been happening for the past 3 weeks.. teething 🤷🏼‍♀️). But apparently that’s not all. 🤦🏼‍♀️ From being an injury prone athlete my whole life, I’ve acquired a keen sense for when something is off in my body. Yesterday I finally decided to go to the dreaded urgent care. They wanted to test me for strep and pregnancy but I was convinced neither were the case. I asked if I could maybe be Mono (I had watched my best friend fight mono in college and my symptoms were so similar). He said that they typically see Mono in teenagers and college students... But they tested me to be sure. When he came back in with the results he said, “Well, I think you’re the first breastfeeding mom I’ve ever seen test POSITIVE for Mono...” Like seriously?! I’m not going around making out with people and sharing drinks 🤔 Oh and then he follows up with this super practical and attainable advice...”Just try to rest as much as you can for the next 4-8 weeks” ......👈🏻🤣LOL. MOMS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO GET MONO🙅🏼‍♀️ Praying I don’t pass it to Ember or Jeremy and that it passes over me quickly🙏🏻 At least I have the cutest baby girl ever to cheer me up☺️I mean look at that face on the 4th photo?! 😭 #emberjean #alwaysmore #alwaysmoremilk @shopalwaysmore

Even though doctors thought it was unlikely because Mono mostly affects teens and college students, they got her tested anyway. And Audrey was right. In fact, the doctors were shocked by the positive result, as it was really rare for a breastfeeding mom to get the disease.

Fortunately, all Audrey needs to get better is a little bit of rest for "4-8 weeks."

Ember and Audrey

We imagine getting some rest with an 8-month-old in the house would be next to impossible. Audrey and husband Jeremy welcomed baby Ember in September 2017. The mom also revealed in her post that Ember had been waking up at nights to nurse, probably due to her teething.

Well, we hope she gets to take a break so her body can heal. Meanwhile, check out these super sweet photos of the adorable little girl.
