Meghan Markle's wedding veil was quite the spectacle. Many were simply blown away as she made her dramatic entrance into St. George's Chapel to wed Prince Harry on May 19.

A strong message

The bride's wedding dress was a Givenchy gown made by British designer Clare Waight Keller. It was clean and simple with no extra embroidery. The veil, however, was as elaborate as they come.

Meghan wanted to honor all 53 countries of the Commonwealth using her wedding veil. As a result, it was designed to represent the "distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition," Kensington Palace stated.

What it took to make the veil

Keller had only five months to create Meghan's wedding dress. She revealed in an interview with Paris Match that she began work on the 16-foot silk tulle veil in January.

It was a milestone moment in her career, and she wanted to make sure it was perfect.

Making the veil and ensuring it stayed spotless was quite the challenge.

To keep the veil immaculate until the ceremony, the embroiderers washed their hands every 30 minutes.

Kensington Palace confirmed that it took the workers "hundreds of hours" to complete the final product. So we can just imagine how much soap and water went into the creation of this masterpiece.

Prince Harry loved it

It was all worth it, though, as Keller also revealed that making the Duchess' wedding dress was an "immense honor" and to have Harry praised her work was "a dream come true."

Prince Harry came to me and said, 'Oh, my God. Thank you. She is absolutely magnificent'.

It sure sounded like Keller and Meghan worked well together on this one. And we have to say, the result was wonderful.
