'The Walking Dead' Actor Scott Wilson Has Passed Away After Battling Leukemia

Veteran actor Scott Wilson has passed away on October 6th due to complications from leukemia.

Wilson, who has been in several movies and most recently known for playing the role of Hershel Greene on 'The Walking Dead', has died.

A rep revealed to TMZ that the actor died peacefully in his home after battling leukemia. It was recently announced that Scott would be returning to the show for the upcoming ninth season of 'The Walking Dead'. His Hollywood career kicked off in 1967 when he starred in 'In the Heat of the Night'. Other movies he has appeared in include 'In Cold Blood' and 'The Ninth Configuration'.

Condolences from his co-stars

'The Walking Dead' Twitter page confirmed the news of passing via a post. Scott was described as an "incredible actor" and the crew expressed their condolences to the actor's family and friends.

Khary Payton, who is also an actor in the TV show where he plays King Ezekiel, also shared his sadness upon hearing of Scott's death. He shared a story of how the late actor gave him a hug when he joined the show and welcomed him to the "family."

Actor Titus Welliver also shared a Twitter post in tribute to the late Scott Wilson. 

Jim Beaver, Scott's co-star on 'The Walking Dead' posted a Tweet expressing his sadness over the death of the actor. "I loved knowing him," he said about Scott who he described as a great actor. 

Rest in peace, Scott. You will surely be missed.
