Reynolds and Hawn starred in the 1982 romantic comedy, Best Friends, and maintained a friendship for years. Hudson was also quite familiar with Reynolds, and has great memories of him from her childhood.

Reynolds was one of the most popular faces on television in the 70’s. His big break into the movie scene was in 1972, when he played Lewis Medlock in Deliverance. Other films that followed, including Smokey and the Bandit (1977), The Cannonball Run (1981), and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) cemented his position as one of the leading Hollywood actors.

Before his death, Reynolds was to appear in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Sadly, the actor did not live to play his part in the film, and producers are yet to say what happens now, since Reynolds is no more.

One thing is certain: Whoever Tarantino picks as a replacement is going to have big shoes to fill.
