Former first сouple Michelle and Barack Obama always look so in love and happy together. During their 8 years in office, theirs became the definition of an ideal relationship. They were goals!
Showing off their beautiful relationship
The two have been together for more than 26 years and still write each other the sweetest love notes online. They do not hold back from sharing their beautiful relationship with the world.
On their anniversary, Barack called the former FLOTUS his favorite person and she thanked him for 26 wonderful years together.
Thank you @barackobama for 26+ years of love, trust, and respect - for being a man who always lifts up and honors me and our wonderful girls. Each day I’m with you, I’m reminded of what a treasure you truly are to us all. https://t.co/dfgJRMyWJj— Michelle Obama (@MichelleObama) October 3, 2018
Still, it takes more than flowery messages to keep a relationship going strong and Michelle is just as willing to share the good as she is willing to share the ugly truths of their love story.
It's not always been rosy...they had to fight for their love
In her new memoir, Becoming, Michelle Obama is opening up about the struggles they went through to keep their relationship together as their lives got busier.
In the section Becoming Us, Michelle says she and Barack sought the help of counselors to help them communicate when they suffered a break down in their marriage.
In an interview with ABC, while promoting the book, Michelle revealed that falling in love with her husband was easy because he was 'smooth'.
He played it real smooth. He just leaned in for a kiss. And that really was it. You know, from that kiss on ... it was love. And he was my man.
But staying in love required them to work on their relationship and she is encouraging young people to do the same.
People are in love with her
At a time when people care more about superficial perfection, Michelle's candid message about how real-life relationships work is inspiring.
