Dwayne Johnson couldn’t get away from fighting, as he was born into a family of wrestlers. His grandfather on the maternal side, “High Chief” Peter Maivia, was a well-known wrestler.

Johnson’s father, Rocky Johnson, didn’t go far from the wrestling business either, making the history by becoming the first black wrestler to win the WWF Tag Team Championship

But it wasn’t only the men in the family, who were known in the wrestling world. The Rock’s maternal grandmother, Lia Maivia, was one of the very few professional wrestling promoters. After the death of her husband, Peter Maivia, in 1982, Lia took over the Polynesian Pro Wrestling in Hawaii.
