Stefano Gabbana is playing a risky game. After taking a swipe at supermodel Kate Moss, he left a nasty comment about the 25-year-old singer Selena Gomez.

The controversial designer called the singer “ugly”. The co-founder of Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana left a comment attacking Gomez appearance in the comment section of The Catwalk Italia feed.

The fashion news site The Catwalk Italia asked its 1.4 million followers to choose their favorite dress from a selection of five outfits worn by the Gomez.

On one of the photos, the singer is wearing a red Dolce & Gabbana gown that she sported when attending the 2011 Oscars with her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber.

Under the photo, Gabbana wrote:

è proprio brutta

It translates from Italian to “she’s so ugly.” After seeing the nasty remark, Selena's loyal fans attacked the designer in response to his cruel words.

@stefanogabbana I don't realize what you just did. Good look sir. Selena fans don't play games.

The 55-year-old designer responded with a simple “'hahaha.”

Since then, Gabbana changed his tune and re-commented on the photo, changing it to “it’s so ugly” in attempt to make people think he called the dresses ugly and not the singer wearing it.

Was it an honest mistake or the designer tried to cover his tracks? We’ll never know.

Gomez has been photographed wearing Dolce & Gabbana dresses on numerous occasions. Will she boycott the designer after his cruel words?
