What is happiness? This is the question people have been asking themselves for centuries. Obviously, for each person, it’s different, but it always includes the range of positive emotions, such as pride, joy, or gratitude.
In the modern world, it gets harder and harder to be happy while juggling home lives and careers. But Oprah Winfrey has a simple secret of how to stay positive.
What is it?
The key is to disconnect and take proper time off! Yes, it’s hard to believe that a media mogul who has been working a lot to earn the multi-billion fortune loves sitting back and doing nothing more than anything.
The 64-year-old is really good at switching off. Sometimes, she takes time off and spends it on her estate without doing anything in particular, taking break from hectic thoughts. Besides, she's happy because she's not envious of anyone:
I don't know anyone happier. I look at other people and I think, they look happy. But not as happy as me.
The talk show host created a beautiful space to live in, so the greatest joy for her is just to enjoy it. Each time she leaves home and drives past the pond and her house on the hill, she has the same thought:
I have this moment where I think about when Dorothy says in The Wizard of Oz, 'I learnt I didn't have to look further than my own backyard.’
What do other people think about being happy and how to achieve this state?
Psychologist say, once you learn how to be happy you won't tolerate being around people who make you feel anything less.— Psychology (@DailyPsychologQ) July 26, 2018
Sometimes I complain about being single but in all reality I’m still happy as can be. I know myself more than ever. I found a new confidence, made more goals, spend time with great friends, and found how to be content with myself. And now I know what I’m looking for in someone.— Charli🤙🏼🌊 (@Charligirl_98) July 25, 2018
