Roseanne Barr's Television Career Ended After Her Racist Tweet. What Will Be Peter Fonda’s Reality After His Words About President Trump’s Son Barron?

One of the most common problems is that people do not think twice before posting something on social media. Freedom of speech is important, of course, but maybe, we need to be more tolerant in our statements about other people. What do you think?

Will Peter Fonda face the same reality as Roseanne Barr?

After her offensive tweet about Barack Obama’s former adviser, Valerie Jarett, the actress Roseanne Barr lost her job in the popular series Roseanne.

The network made a decision to cancel the show following the scandal with Barr’s tweet. Later, ABC announced the spinoff The Conners to be premiered this fall but without Roseanne Barr in the cast. The actress reportedly agreed to be removed from the sitcom so that 200 jobs could be saved.

But what’s about Peter Fonda? The famous actor has also been involved in a scandal after his harsh tweet about President Trump’s son Barron. His remark that “12-year-old Barron should be ripped from his mother's arms and placed in a cage with pedophiles” generated huge outrage on social media.

Fonda released his tweet amid the overall attention to the immigrant crisis and the problem of children’s separation at the Mexican border. However, after a wave of negative comments, the actor deleted his tweet and apologized to the Trump family.

It was wrong and I should not have done it. I immediately regretted it and sincerely apologize to the family for what I said and any hurt my words have caused.

Double standards?

Just a week after his now-deleted tweet, the latest film Boundaries starring Peter Fonda has been opened in theatres. For this reason, some people on social media keep asking one question: “Why the actor did not face the same reality after his harsh comment as Roseanne Barr did?”

Donald Trump Jr. also commented on the matter saying:

If you needed more verification of the double standard here's the perfect example.

We don’t know for sure how their remarks will influence Fonda and Barr’s future careers. The only thing we can ask everyone is to think twice before posting a message on social media. Let’s respect each other and try not to hurt anyone’s feelings.
