Garth Brooks is not only talented singer and songwriter but also a loving father to his three young daughters. In fact, he always puts his girls first.
When Garth and his first wife, Sandy, divorced, she took children to Owasso, Oklahoma. And although Brooks’ career was centered around the music industry in Nashville, he decided to follow there.
He even had to make a deal with his second wife, Trisha Yearwood, promising her to move back to Tennessee as soon as all of his girls are out of high school. And now, his youngest daughter, Allie, has finally graduated, which means Garth will start touring again.
What was it like to grow up with a famous dad?
Brooks did everything he could to shield his kids from limelight. To ensure that the girls had a normal childhood, he even shut down his own career. As his daughter Allie says:
I don't know what it's like to have a celebrity parent. My Dad was there every night.
Garth and Sandy wanted their children to see both parents every day, so they made sure the girls switched houses every night. This way, they had a loving upbringing with both parents and a stepmom being there.
Since her childhood, Allie has wanted to become a singer and write music. But she promised her dad she wouldn’t sign any record contract until she graduated. Now that she has a degree, the young girl is ready to make a name for herself.
The 21-year-old already has original songs, such as "Stoneheart," "Close Enough," and "Neverland." And the video of her singing "Close Enough" has more than 700 thousand views on YouTube.
We hope Garth will take his daughter on a tour with him, so that we can enjoy more of her performances.
