The 2016 elections has not only torn the country apart, it has greatly affected families. And it looks like celebrities were not an exception.

In one of the newest interviews, model Hailey Baldwin revealed that the event left her heartbroken. And not because her chosen candidate, Hillary Clinton, lost, but because it caused fights, feud, and years of silence in the Baldwin household.

It’s no secret that Hailey’s father, Stephen, was among the first people to come out as a Trump supporter. Meanwhile, his older brother Alec became a SNL staple for mocking the President onscreen and off.

While Hailey is close to all of her family members, including cousins and parents, it hurts that her father hasn’t spoken to her uncle since 2016:

Early on during the campaign, I thought that SNL was getting a little too nasty... I haven't even spoken to my own brother since the election.

Besides, the rest of the family disagree with Stephen as well. As the 21-year-old model says:

I love my father, he’s an amazing dad, but we so strongly disagreed on [the election]. He and my sister strongly disagreed on it. My sister’s husband, like everyone on our side, just doesn’t agree with him.

Stephen, in his turn, doesn’t intend to make peace with Alec. Prior to elections, he urged his brother to stop impersonating Trump on screen.

The 52-year-old genuinely believes Donald Trump wants what’s best for everybody. What Stephen is most hopeful about is that the President will bring the breath of fresh air into the country’s economy.

The actor thinks these 4 years of presidency will probably be the most difficult ones, but he hopes Trump will figure out how to bring people together.
