In 2017, McCain was diagnosed with brain cancer, known as glioblastoma, at the age of 80. He was gravely ill and periodically did both radiation and chemotherapy to fight a malignant tumor inside his brain.

Ironically, he was already ill with cancer but recovered. In 2000, McCain underwent melanoma surgery, after which a scar remained on his left cheek.

On August 24, 2018, he announced his intention to discontinue the treatment of the tumor and on the following day, he passed away at 81 y.o.

Undeniable bond

Meghan McCain, 31, a loving daughter, has been shattered since her father's death on August 25, 2018. She counts days since this nightmare and can't stop her pain.

Her heartbreaking words were revealed on Instagram highlighting how much she misses him, and how much she wants him to stay in her life, even if it's spiritually.

I miss your laugh, your voice, your dark sense of humor, the way you always made me feel safe in a world that seems to have lost its way. I miss your dry ribs and grilled chicken. I miss you singing The Beach Boys on the porch. I miss waking up and drinking cappuccino and reading the New York Times together. I miss your old far side t-shirts and watching John Wayne movies. I miss hiking across the creek to the top of the mountain and watching the black hawks. I miss the way you cooked eggs and bacon.

Oh, girl, he will stay in your heart for ever and ever.

Wedding day

Meghan McCain and Ben Domenech tied the knot on November 21, 2017. In fact, they planned to marry later, but Meghan wanted to see her dad on the big day. Ben encouraged her to push up the wedding.

Though Mr. McCain was quite alright at that time, no one knew what could possibly happen in a minute.

You’re really just living scan to scan. I wanted to make sure that he was — that we were all — there. Why wait?

This decision was one of the best since Meghan could be the happiest with her father and best friend beside her.

Sadly, life is way too complicated. Someone is born while the other dies. Nevertheless, John McCain is undoubtedly happy about being remembered by so many people, especially his precious family.
