Carys Zeta-Douglas Didn't Want To Be A Part Of The 'Douglas Dynasty', But Her Grandfather Remains Her Biggest Fan

Date September 21, 2018

Carys Zeta-Douglas is not your typical 15-year-old. She's got style, wonderful manners, and is admirably aware of how fortunate she is to be a part of her family.

Her parents are Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and she makes the third generation in a showbiz royalty family. Like her superstar parents, it seems like she has a knack for being in the public eye. With just two appearances at Fashion Week, at Michael Kors and Dolce & Gabbana, Carys got the attention of the press instantly. Clearly, it runs in the blood.

Fame wasn’t always Cary Zeta-Douglas’ comfort zone

However, Carys wasn't always thrilled about the family she is from, and the legacy she is forced to be a part of.

According to the 15-year-old, when she was younger, she was not very happy with the Douglas name attached to her. In her own words:

When I was younger, I didn’t like the idea of having this name attached to me, this kind of Douglas dynasty stuff.

As a young girl, she grew away from the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. But things changed when they moved to Manhattan. She recalls that the paparazzi would always try to get snaps of them, and she hated it. Eventually, she realized that her life would always, to an extent, be in the public eye, and she quickly adapted.

Away from the life of Hollywood, Cary has some dreams of her own. She hopes to get an Ivy League education, and probably become a doctor. However, as many would assume, she also has a strong passion for acting, and her grandfather, Kirk Douglas, just happens to be her biggest fan.

A recent post on Facebook by Michael Douglas shows Kirk holding a Town & Country magazine issue with Carys and Catherine on the cover, stating how proud he is of his granddaughter.

And who wouldn't be? Carys has the poise expected of Hollywood royalty, and lacks the spoiled nature of most. A perfect combination.
