Royalty may seem like a good catch, but there are some cons to those pros. Such loopholes were publically disclosed when Sarah Ferguson, aka Fergie, broke her bond with Prince Andrew.
Their fairytale ended with an announcement from Buckingham Palace on March 19, 1996. Protocol was broken when the Queen herself showed her personal unhappiness over the matter. Sarah expressed her formidable attachment to her former mother-in-law, as she told Harper's Bazaar:
I still see, love, and admire her. I didn't want a divorce but had to because of circumstances. I wanted to work, it's not right for a princess of the royal house to be commercial, so Andrew and I decided to make the divorce official so I could go off and get a job.
The reason behind her wrecked marriage was that she wanted to have an active career. More trauma lies in the fact that, in the first five years of their marriage, Fergie only got to see Prince Andrew 40 days a year. She called it "the most painful time of my life." During an interview with Ernie Manouse, she let out her distress when she said:
I got the palace, but not my man.
This is definitely not what she had signed up for!
Prince Andrew is still her soulmate
Prince Andrew and Sarah were madly in love when they exchanged vows in 1986. They still uphold their promise to respect each other and have faith in their compassion. Evidently, the separation shocked her to the core of her whole being, as witnessed by their loyal fans.
Fergie stresses that Andrew is currently involved with her as family and is a first-rate dad to her daughters and her best friend. She made it crystal clear in her statement:
I love him. He's my soulmate. It's actually what we said in front of God at the altar: We honor and respect each other until death does us part. The only thing is, he has girlfriends and I have boyfriends.
She doesn't have a boyfriend right now, but between the lines, it indicated that she probably would like to have one in future. The ex-wife of the royal naval officer is optimistic and open to all possibilities. Go get 'em, girl!
What do language experts say?
Body language experts crushed any gleaming hope of their reunion. According to their readings, Fergie and Prince Andrew avoided displaying any form of affection in the pews at the wedding of their daughter, Princess Eugenie. The atmosphere was disturbingly formal between them. Expert Judi James revealed:
These two are often seen using the kind of body language signals together that might hint there is still some sort of spark between them, but, at their daughter's wedding, it did at times look more like a freeze-out.
Maybe their fight for each other is actually over and only a smooth, friendly peace remains. These two have proven that even being soulmates isn't enough sometimes. They seem to have moved on, but to fans, it's just heartbreaking, isn't it?
