One of the most outstanding First Ladies of the United States, Barbara Bush, left this world on April 17, 2018, at the age of 92. Barbara left behind a big family, which includes 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. They still miss and love her greatly.

One of Bush's granddaughters, Jenna Bush Hager, paid a beautiful tribute to her granny after her passing.

Touching goodbye

Jenna Bush Hager was overwhelmed with feelings after losing her grandmother. So she decided to put it all in one final goodbye letter to Barbara and shared it with Today.

Her letter is filled with beautiful memories of Barbara, including the last e-mail she sent to her granddaughter, which Jenna will always hold dear:

One of your final emails to me you wrote very little. The subject line read: YOU. In the body of the email you wrote: 'I am watching you. I love you. Ganny.' Well, Ganny we have spent our lives watching you.

Bush Hager shared the wonderful things she's learned from Barbara, promising she'll never forget, and will pass it on to her children:

You taught us that humor, wit and grace are the best accessories and that worrying too much about looks is (in your words) is boring.

Most of all, Jenna wanted to say one last time how lucky she considers herself and her family to have had such a wonderful mother and grandmother in their lives:

You always said that you were one of the luckiest women to ever live, but Gans I am filled with gratitude because you were ours. We are the lucky ones.

Barbara is forever in her family's hearts, and we can't help but shed a tear over their heartbreaking loss.

And so Ganny...we love more than tongue can tell. Love, Jenna.

Barbara Bush was a wise woman with a kind heart

Former First Lady won't just be remembered by her own family, she also touched many lives, and even in her later years was dedicated to working with children.

Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy was her biggest passion. Barbara worked tirelessly with kids and loved reading to them.

In addition, she will be remembered for shattering ignorance. One time, Barbara hugged and kissed little babies with AIDS virus showing the public that it's safe to be helpful and kind to ill children.

We will miss you forever, dear Barbara.
