Barbara's funeral service was attended by Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack and Michelle Obama, Melania Trump, as well as many others who wanted to pay their respects and say goodbye to the exceptional woman.

Bush left behind her loving husband George H.W. Bush as well as many of her children and grandchildren.

One of Barbara's grandchildren Jenna Bush Hager is still having a tough time coping with her granny's death, and often lovingly remembers her.

Now that holiday season is approaching, Jenna is feeling extremely sentimental as this Christmas is going to be the first one the family spends without Barbara.

Bush Hager also revealed on her show a holiday tradition that Barbara started for her entire family, and it absolutely breaks our hearts:

She started this tradition, which I just love. She needlepointed stockings for my girls, they have one that will be hung on the chimney with care. And then she actually stockpiled, she knew she was sick, so she did as many as she could, she needlepointed as many as she could, so that grandbabies, great-grandbabies that came after she passed could have a stocking from her.

This tradition sounds absolutely lovely and we're happy for the family that they have such a warm memory about their granny.

Barbara always looked ahead

The former first lady knew she was sick, so she made sure to pay attention to every single one of her loved one and give them something to remember her by.

Jenna, for example, shared the last email she's ever got from Barbara, and it's the one she'll carry with her through the years:

One of your final emails to me you wrote very little. The subject line read: YOU. In the body of the email you wrote: 'I am watching you. I love you. Ganny.' Well, Ganny we have spent our lives watching you.
