Camilla The Queen: Why Some People Consider The Duchess Of Cornwall To Be A Good Consort As A Monarch

The perception of the Duchess of Cornwall became negative after it was revealed she had an affair with Prince Charles. It was a big shock not only for the royal family, but for the whole British society. Prince Charles and Princess Diana separated in 1992, but many people still consider Diana to be much better than Camilla.

During her interview with Martin Bashir on BBC Panorama in 1995, Princess Diana said:

Well, there were three of us in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded.


Twitter users leave plenty of negative posts and comments, writing how said it is to see Camilla next to Charles, and not Diana.

Prince Charles and Camilla tied the knot back in 2005, and since then, they are doing all royal duties together. So, when Prince Charles takes the throne, Camilla will be by his side.

Although the public turned against Camilla, some people think she would be a great Queen. In the interview with People, Charles Anson, the former press secretary to the Queen, said:

She’s got a good philosophy about life: 'There are things you can change, other things you can’t change...Don’t get too hung up about it.' And I think she’ll be a great consort as a Queen.


Prince Charles first met Camilla at a polo match back in 1970, and it was love at first sight.
