Being a member of the royal family is the huge responsibility, as almost every step is visible for the society, and it seems that every decision should be correct. But royals are the same people as we are: they get married, divorce, have children, make mistakes, etc.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage was not successful, and it ended up with the divorce. Moreover, Prince Charles thought he was bullied into marriage with Princess Diana by his father Prince Philip. He claimed that one day, he received a letter where his father wrote about the necessity either to marry Diana or to release.
By the way, Prince Philip took Princess Diana's side in divorce from Prince Charles. As reported by the Daily Mail, private letters between Prince Philip and Princess Diana were found. In those letter, he wrote that he couldn’t imagine anyone in the right mind leaving Diana for Camilla.
As reported by Express, Prince Philip even called Prince Charles silly. He wrote:
Charles was silly to risk everything with Camilla for a man in his position. We never dreamed he might feel like leaving you for her.
Royal experts claim that Prince Philip’s decision to support Diana and shame Camilla was groundbreaking.
The royal commentator Sarah Gristwood said:
Never mind how Camilla might feel about that, he was being supportive towards Diana, and no one knew better than Prince Philip just how hard it was for an outsider to come into the Royal Family
Letters came from the same few weeks in 1992, several months before Diana and Charles separated.
Diana was deeply touched for such care and support. She even called Prince Philip “Dearest Pa" and thanked him for the marriage guidance.
Prince Philip was doing his best to support Diana. Do you think the Duke of Edinburgh was sincere?
