What was it like to know the great Farrah Fawcett when she was in her prime before her heartbreaking descent into drugs and ill health?
Great friend, the life of the party
Alana Stewart, best friend of the late iconic beauty is spilling the tea on the actress's life alongside close friends in an upcoming A&E documentary ahead of the 10th anniversary of Fawcett's tragic death in 2009.
Stewart says the actress threw the best slumber parties at her beach house. She spent endless weekends over at Fawcett's home getting manicures, massages, and pouring through fashion magazines.
The Charlie's Angels star also loved to make Christmas Eve pies for her loved ones. But, Fawcett was not just a great friend and cook.
Her personal assistant Mike Pingel revealed to Closer Weekly that his former boss was an astute businesswoman even though she was generally considered a sex symbol and airhead.
Pingel believes that the actress would have been a valuable voice in the #MeToo era because her movies were mostly about empowering women.
Brave battle with cancer
Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and bravely documented her journey in the Emmy-nominated Farrah’s Story. She succumbed to the disease in 2009, but before that, declared that she was "almost glad she got cancer."
It gave her great joy that she could make a difference and possibly inspire more research that would save lives. Her friends and fans continue to miss her greatly.
