Steve Harvey might be discontinuing his popular NBC Universal show Steve and it's all because of the country singer, Kelly Clarkson.
Clarkson is coming to daytime TV
Recall that in August, NBC revealed that it was putting out a pilot talk show with Clarkson as its host. The show is set to drop in the fall of 2019.
The singer recently joined The Voice with her hand-picked protege 15-year-old Brynn Cartelli winning the show last season. Despite having her hands full, she is taking on this brand new show which sources say will be syndicated.
Did she steal Steve Harvey's slot?
This might be great news for Clarkson and her fans, but Steve Harvey is not amused. At a recent Variety media event that had the comedian and veteran host on as a guest, he was asked how long he planned to keep the show going and his response was completely unexpected.
Harvey noted that daytime television was in decline and said that only his show had survived syndication in the last 7 years.
Then he dropped the bombshell that NBC Universal had failed to renew their deal with him and given his slot to Clarkson.
Harvey says he was blindsided by the deal.
