He is married

The singer is married to Mary Davis. She has two kids, daughter Cavenaugh and son Raleigh Beougher, from her ex-husband Dr. Ritchie Beougher.

They quietly got married as they had been engaged for some time before his hospitalization for stroke. She stood by the Too Gone Too Long singer after his stroke to help him heal.

Their love for each other never wavered as she was there for him. Davis even kept Randy’s fans updated about his health.

One regret

As a country singer, Randy enjoyed a successful career. One thing the singer, however, regrets is that he never got to have his own family.

His wife said the singer always flourished around children. According to Taste Of Country, this was something Davis first noticed when they met, and her children got to spend time with him. She said:

Children are very special to Randy. If a fan had a crying baby he would take that crying baby, put it on his lap. Maybe it was just that honey voice of his that the baby would look at him and be quiet.

Speaking to Taste of Country, the singer said the reason he never had children was due to his first marriage. His wife said he wanted children, but his marriage to a woman who was much older than him did not help.

I think his relationship with Lib, who was so much older than him and they were not able to, is what he explained to me ... I think it was just more the dynamics of the relationship that he had during those child-bearing years.

First marriage

Randy was married to Lib Hatcher for over a decade. They first met in North Carolina when the singer was a teenager auditioned at the country club she was managing.

At the time when no one would sign Randy, Lib helped to support him, while he worked as a dishwasher. The singer admitted that by the time they moved to Nashville to pursue his career, it was more than business for them. He says their relationship grew after being around and working with each other.

They secretly got married in the courtyard of their home with only a preacher and two strangers. Not only was Lib Randy’s wife, she was also his manager.

It’s sad that Randy Travis didn’t make his parenting dream come true. However, he enjoys spending time with Davis’s children.
