The two married in 1981, divorced 3 years later, and then married again in 1986. But this union just simply didn’t mean to be and the couple parted ways forever in 1992. Now Walters is still single and she’s, actually, happy about it.

But why she stopped dating?

In one of her interviews, Barbara revealed that throughout all of her relationships, she has always put her career first. She admits that the reason why they all failed might have something to do with that.

The TV star believes that she’s not very good at being a wife. She commented:

I don’t think that I was very good at marriage. It may be that my career was just too important. It may have been that I was a difficult person to be married to, and I just seem to be better alone. I’m not lonely, I’m alone.

Despite that, she always wanted to be a mother. However, after having a few miscarriages, she felt like it might not be possible to do it naturally. So she decided to adopt.

Walters and her then-husband, Lee Guber, adopted an adorable baby girl. They named her Jackie, after Barbara’s mentally disabled older sister.
