But his relationship with Jennifer Aniston was the most interesting as the two had a 9-year age difference, which might have caused them to split.

Post-breakup rant

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer met at the Oscars party in 2008. For one year they were considered as the Hollywood’s A-list couple until they broke up. However, it wasn’t their relationship that made the news but rather what happened after it ended.

Mayer’s post-breakup comments recently resurfaced on the Internet and they are pretty nasty. The singer not only declared that he was the one who broke up with the actress but he also allegedly left very unpleasant comments about her, alluring that she was too old for him.

He supposedly said:

I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last. In some ways I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32.

However, many fans believe that ending their relationship was really tough for the singer. According to US magazine, he even wrote a song about Aniston.

It is thought that the single Shadow Days is a sort of farewell letter to the actress where Mayer says that he finally lets her go, after three years of trying to get over her. That’s kind of romantic, isn’t it?
