Even though it feels like the announcement came out of nowhere, it actually makes sense since the Sussex family is growing and the two-bedroom home won’t meet their needs.

However, their future place of residence, Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor Estate, does not sound like a dream home for the couple. Not only it is in the state run-down, it is also connected to a very scandalous story.

It appears that Harry and Meghan have been presented with a fixer-upper. Royal biographer Ingrid Seward revealed to PEOPLE that the cottage is “pretty dilapidated now,” so the couple has a lot of work on their hands.

As it turns out, Simpson is buried next to her husband near Frogmore in the Royal Burial Ground. Despite what could arguably be called the biggest scandal in British royal history, changing the succession line and making Queen Elizabeth‘s father the unexpected King, the royal family accompanied her coffin to its burial spot after her death in 1986.
