Meghan Markle Is Learning Protocol From The “Most Prestigious Of Teachers”

Date June 15, 2018

Meghan Markle is already stepping pretty in her Givenchy dress and new royal shoes, as she accompanied Queen Elizabeth II during the official assignment this week. The event was the opening of the new Mersey Gateway Bridge on June 14 in the town of Runcorn, Cheshire.

This is the first time the duchess will be on assignment with the Queen, and she was not with her husband, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

Now that she is a full member of the royal family, the new duchess still has a lot of schooling to go through. And according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams, she is getting first-hand coaching from the “most prestigious of teachers”. None other than the Queen herself.

A trip with the Queen will be an experience which she will learn from, it is being coached in royal protocol by the most prestigious of teachers and an experience which Diana never had.

And clearly, the coaching will come in handy, as the duchess almost committed a faux pas on the trip. Cameras caught her flustered when she was undecided as to whether she was to get into a waiting car before the Queen or after.

Eventually, the duchess asked the Queen on what she would prefer. And Her Majesty gracefully ushered the duchess in before her. Talk about a narrow escape. Nobody wants to upset his or her mother-in-law, especially not when she happens to be the Queen of England.

Fitzwilliams also noted that this trip is also special for another reason. Only so many royals ever get the privilege of riding on the royal train with the Queen for security reasons. Clearly, the duchess has found a special place in Her Majesty’s heart, as she rode with her to Cheshire from London. Even Princess Diana did not get to ride on the train with the Queen.

Meghan was the first Royal fiancé to spend Christmas at Sandringham and travelling with the Queen on the royal train when they go to Cheshire for a day of engagements is indeed unusual.
