Not only will Prince Charles play the role of father of the groom during the royal wedding, he now has a super special honor. The Prince of Wales will now get to walk his daughter-in-law down the aisle.

Prince Charles' duty

According to a recent update shared by the Kensington Palace, it was revealed that Prince Harry's father will give the bride away on the big day.

There have been a lot of speculations in the last few days about how things will turn out. Thomas Markle, Meghan's father, was wanted to do that, but he bowed out due to health reasons.

Now, to show that the royal family truly embraces and supports Harry's American bride, his father will take this role.

But this isn't his first time

The future king of England has also done this same duty for Mountbatten heiress, Alexandra Knatchbull, when she was marrying Thomas Hooper.

Alexandra is the great-granddaughter of Lord Louis Mountbatten. Prince Charles was very close to the lord and saw him as a father figure when he was young.

In fact, the relationship was so strong that Prince Charles' older son, William, has Louis as his middle name. Prince William then went on to pass it to his two sons, George (whose middle name is Louis) and the newborn Prince Louis.

All is well

Since Meghan Markle announced that her father will not walk her down the aisle, many have been wondering who will take his place. But now we have the answer.

And knowing Prince Charles has some experience with this gig, we think Meghan is in great hands.
