Date April 12, 2019 12:52

Last year in August, the star of the hit NBC show, I Dream of Jeannie, Barbara Eden had celebrated her 87th birthday. Her career started when she was just 14. She sang for local bars at a wage of &10. Upgrading her passion and turning that into skills, she went on to study at Elizabeth Holloway School of Theatre.

It's amazing to see how far she's has come. And that, while looking absolutely fabulous.

In her younger days, Eden used to do spins three times a week. Her trainer made her lift weights and encouraged her to maintain bone density. But as her age began to progress, it was impossible for her to carry on a strict workout regime.

Her secret to longevity

If Barbara Eden could have one wish come true, it would be having to work forever. Her devotion to arts has kept her soul ignited. She exclusively talked to Closer Weekly to spill the beans about her longevity and what keeps her alive. She is eternally beautiful and her vibes are as strong as in her youth.

Well, you might think it's diet or supplements. Sure, why not, but an internal element also gives her strength. The legendary diva revealed that she commits to her job and avoids being idle. It has paid off as years of a long life to her. Barbara explained:

That’s what keeps my energy up. I love to work. If I don’t work, then I get lazy.

She has a strong spirit

The courage of one's soul is the greatest power one can have. Barbara also had her fair share of traumas that tried to bring her down. Her only child, Matthew Ansara was a fitness trainer and actor. He, unfortunately, died in 2001, aged 35, due to drug overdose. Eden still misses him and her heart will ache forever.
