After 34 Years Of Love, Patrick Swayze's Widow Got Remarried. Who's The Man That Healed Her Broken Heart?
The marriage of Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi was nothing short of endearing. They met when the famous actor was 18 years old and married 5 years later in 1975. He spent his entire life loving and supporting her, until his untimely passing in 2009.
Patrick and Lisa lived through two miscarriages, and although they didn't have any children, their love for each other never wavered. Niemi was with Swayze when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2008, and stayed by him through every step of that devastating battle.
After Patrick's death, Lisa didn't think she would ever be able to love again until one man was able to heal her broken heart.
For several years after her soul mate's death, Niemi was getting used to the idea of spending the rest of her life alone. Her friends, however, couldn't stand to watch their friend perish in loneliness and introduced Lisa to jeweler Albert DePrisco.
Lisa fell in love and was happy again, but when Albert popped the question in 2013, she started to doubt if she can marry another man. Niemi told PEOPLE:
I have to say, that the love I have for Patrick was never in conflict or competition with my feelings for Albert. That is until Albert asked me to marry him! I found myself grappling with my feelings of having been married to Patrick for 34 years! Privately, I flipped, I flopped. Yes, get married, no, don’t get married.

Albert let her know that he understands her struggles and has no plans to overshadow the life she had with Swayze. DePrisco wanted to make Lisa happy, and that's what helped her make the decision:
Albert knew I still loved Patrick and would always love him, and told me, ‘and I know you love me, and I love you.’ How could I not marry this man? As I had time to process the change my life was going to take, my doubts became less and less, and I became more and more sure.

Lisa married Albert in 2014 in a beautiful ceremony. She started a new chapter of her life at 58, which requires a lot of courage and Niemi believes that what Patrick would've wanted for her.
