It’s been three years since the passing of Celine Dion’s husband, René Angélil. The singer’s better half passed away from throat cancer at the age of 73. But she’s now coping and learning how to move on while remembering her only love.
René Angélil's final years of agony
After mourning the loss of her spouse, Celine opened up on how they spent Rene’s last days. As it turns out, the singer’s husband went through three years of agony, eating through a tube. It was devastating for the mother of three who wanted her beloved to live in peace. But at least, he passed away peacefully, without much pain.
Celine remembers her best man for all times
The Canadian singer paid an emotional tribute to her late husband René Angélil who died in 2016 from throat cancer, at the end of her final concert in Las Vegas. Rene was Celine’s only love. She met the producer at a young age and he helped her become one of the most celebrated singers of all time.
Céline invited her three children — Rene-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy — on stage during the final show of her concert as a video montage of her husband was played on the screen.
The mother of three looking beautiful in a shimmering silver dress held a bouquet of roses while holding on to her youngest children.
Speaking to the large crowd at the concert, Celine said:
I’m both proud and humbled by what we’ve accomplished at The Colosseum since we began 16 years ago when René and I first shared this dream.
This entire experience has been a huge part of my show business career… one that I will cherish forever. I have so many people to thank, but the most important ‘thank you’ goes to my fans, who gave us the opportunity to do what we love.
She’s not sad about losing her husband and brother
A few years ago, Celine Dion took a major hit when she lost her husband and brother just days apart, both to cancer. Opening up about what it felt like to lose the love of her life and a sibling, Celine said it was perfect the way her husband chose to 'escort' her brother. The singer added that René would take care of her brother.
Stay strong, Céline!
