How Claudia Schiffer Found Her True Love, Matthew Vaughn, After Split From David Copperfield

Unlike her colleagues in the modeling business, Naomi Campbell or Kate Moss, Claudia Schiffer has never been involved in scandalous situations and relationships. Of course, the model had her personal ups and downs in the past, as she had been engaged to the stage magician David Copperfield for a few years before calling it quits.

But now, the 48-year-old can boast about being a doting mother to three children and a loving wife to Matthew Vaughn. The beauty married the English film producer and director back in 2002, and they have been living together happily ever since.

When the German supermodel talks about her husband, she beams. But what makes their relationship so strong and special? As Claudia revealed in an interview with The Guardian, Matthew is different from all the others:

I'd never found anyone that perfect and I just thought, oh, there's no perfect man out there. Then I met him. He had everything I wanted in a man. He completely swept me off my feet.

The two shared much in common and it was only natural for them to be together and build a family, welcoming beautiful children. As the model thought at the time:

I have the right man, I'm going to have kids right away, let's not waste time.

Even Vaughn’s proposal was extraordinary!

The screenwriter had a dilemma about how to propose to one of the most beautiful women in the world. She was so special that getting down on a knee seemed boring. So, Mathew came up with a romantic alternative, which he shared with Mirror:

I commissioned one of my favorite artists, a guy called Ed Ruscha, to do a painting saying, 'Marry me'. I gave it to Claudia and, luckily, I got a painting back saying, ‘Yes’.
