The pair has one son together – Jack – and it turns out that managing work and raising her boy was not an easy task for Ruth. She openly revealed to Melanie Sykes that she went back to work only 8 weeks after welcoming her son.

Since she worked, Langsford hired a full-time nanny to look after Jack. She had no family nearby, and even if she did, her parents were a bit too old for caring for the baby. As the host added:

It was fine, you know, you always have mother guilt, I still have mother guilt. There are quite a few people in show business who won’t admit to having a nanny. For some reason, I don’t know why, they think that it’s something shameful.

Does she have any advice for younger mother?

Yes, but some may not find it appropriate. What Ruth suggests working moms is not to beat themselves up after they return to the working environment:

Your baby will not have a clue you’re not there, not a clue …It’s only you you’re hurting, and really, he will know that you’re his mum.  I used to think, but he’ll think the nanny’s his mum.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that Jack and Eamonn aren’t Ruth’s priorities. If anything jeopardized her marriage and family, she would make every effort to fix it because this is what’s important for her.

What do you think about Ruth’s advice?
