Got tired of criticism

In modern society, the majority of people can’t imagine their life without social media. Some of us can’t stay aside from Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook for a day. And even when we do not post our own pictures, we feel an overwhelming desire to see what our friends and colleagues post on their accounts. Do you recognize yourself here?

Joanna Gaines also can’t imagine her life without social media. For Joanna and her husband Chip being socially active is an integral part of their job. As you know, the spouses worked together on their own show Fixer Upper till 2013. Now, they own a construction/design company named Magnolia Homes, and they need social media to make their brand successful.

With every picture I found myself critiquing if there were messy backgrounds or blurry smiles.

But there is a good side

Of course, there is a positive side, too. Joanna said that social media helps her find inspiration for her work. Besides, she enjoys sharing new photos of her family, observing how her five kids grow up with every new picture.

Joanna said the best thing we all can do is “to stop critiquing others and comparing their photos to their own lives.”

We should live our lives here and now, without worrying about what other people would think about us.
