Never Too Late: Suze Orman Found Soulmate At 50, And They Have Been Together For More Than 17 Years

If you are an avid book reader, then the name Suzie Orman should ring a bell. Born Susan Lynn Orman, the 68-year-old is an American author who has written nine New York Times bestsellers.

She is also a financial advisor and a television host. Her show, ‘The Suze Orman Show,’ ran for 13 years from 2002.

Orman has made quite a name for herself in both showbiz and the financial world, all of which she achieved at a young age. However, the same cannot be said about her love life as she didn’t find a soulmate until she turned 50.

Suze’s love story

Given the era that Suze grew up in, it came as a surprise to many on February 25, 2007, when the financial guru came out as a lesbian.

During an interview with New York Times magazine, Suze was asked if she was married and that was when she told the world that she was in a relationship with a woman named Kathy Travis and that they had been together for seven years.

In her words:

“We’re going on seven years. I have never been with a man in my whole life. I’m still a 55-year-old virgin.”

Regardless of how shocking that revelation was for many people, Suze is genuinely happy that she found Kathy. While on ‘Oprah’s Where Are They Now?’ the author gave details opened up about finding a soulmate in her partner.

The television host, who is well-known for giving financial advice, explained that all the material gains in the world do not compare to finding someone you love. She described finding a soulmate as “the greatest dream.”

Suze then went on to talk about the effect Travis has had on her life.

“I found KT at the age of 50, that was 15 years ago. KT is truly the light of my life. She keeps me going in ways that I never thought.”

Although they met a long time ago, Suze and Travis tied the knot in 2010 and have been living happily together ever since.
