Ex-Quarterback Babe Laufenberg Mourns The Loss Of His Son Luke Who Died From Cancer Aged 21

In a heartbreaking turn of events, son of Dallas Cowboys radio analyst Babe Laufenberg has lost his battle to cancer.

According to DallasCowboys, Luke Laufenberg lost his fight with cancer on Thursday, August 22 at the age of 21.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett, who was also a longtime friend of Luke's, described the young man as "amazing". He praised Luke's spirits saying that he fought the condition while still managing to express concerns for his loved ones.

It was reported that Luke was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia Burkitt in 2017. He received a cancer-free diagnosis in 2018, however, he continued to cope with health complications since then.

Luke's father, Babe Laufenberg, released a statement via Instagram about the passing of his son.

In his post, Babe talked about losing a "son, a brother, a friend, and a warrior." He confirmed that Luke lost his fight with cancer while also describing his son as "truly inspirational."

The hole in our hearts will never be filled. You are my hero. RIP my sweet Luke. See you on the other side.

Condolence messages have been pouring in since Luke's death was announced. Fans shared heartwarming words about the son of the football star and reflected on what a good man he was.

@t_troit_from_detroit described him as a "special young man" while offering his condolences to the family. @crbara also expressed sadness over the loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss! I saw Luke's story a few months ago but I had no idea the cancer had returned. May he Rest In Peace and may his family also find peace.
