First Lady of the United States Melania Trump formally reopened the Washington Monument on Thursday following renovations that lasted three years.

The FLOTUS celebrated the official reopening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony where she was surrounded by a group of fourth-grade students from Amidon Bowen Elementary School.

After cutting the ribbon, Melania Trump took an elevator ride to the top marking the special event.

According to CBS, the Washington Monument was closed for many years due to earthquake damage but has now been reopened.

For the occasion, Melania looked absolutely stunning in a structured white dress which fell below her knees, showing off her lovely legs. The dress featured a belt detailing that accentuated her waist, putting her toned figure on display.

She completed her outfit with a pair of printed heels which did a great job of adding a pop of color to her overall look.

People complimented Melania's outfit but also praised how happy she was when surrounded by the young children.

They pointed out that the kids seemed proud, excited and eager around her and the First Lady glowed around them as well.

This seems to be a worthwhile and memorable celebration for Melania and the kids.
