Shannen Doherty Opens Up About Physical And Emotional Struggles After Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Shannen Doherty always keeps it real. The ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, and she hasn’t kept back anything throughout her battle with the illness.
We’ve seen it all, including plenty of tears, post-chemotherapy dance parties, and surgeries. In April 2017, the actress revealed she was in a remission. One year later, she’s optimistic she will stay that way.
Three weeks ago, Doherty had reconstruction surgery, And in her new Instagram and Twitter post, she got candid about this latest challenge. The actress shared a picture with her surgeon and wrote a heartbreaking caption.
As it turns out, the 47-year-old is struggling both emotionally and physically following the procedure:
Reconstruction is no joke. Not going to lie... I’ve struggled with this surgery. My amazing Dr. Jay Orringer keeps reminding me it’s only been 3 weeks and I’m up and about.
She continued, explaining that she can’t do many things that she enjoys to do, which is rough. But Doherty still thinks she’s blessed.
I’m thankful. Things could be so much worse.
Her fans and followers clearly appreciated the actress’ positive outlook and openness. The comment section on Twitter is filled with warm words and messages of support.
