The leggy showgirl, Lucille Ball was a model and B-grade movie goddess. Her pumpkin locks and hilarious wits became her identity in the TV industry. Her personality in real life was far more endearing.

Marie Osmond is here to testify the late legend's brilliance and extent of compassion.

The comedy queen passed away at the age of 77 in 1989. She was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with a complaint of heart complications. Only a week after she underwent surgery for it, Lucille lost her battle to win life. Her abdominal aorta was ruptured.

The recollection of sweet past

Marie is known for her association with the Osmond family's musical band. But, during her lustrous career, she also crossed paths with many luminaries of the showbiz like Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Dean Martin, and Lucille Ball.

The humorist beauty was on season 3 episode 2 of the Donny & Marie show, aired in 1977. While talking to Closer Weekly, the Paper Roses songster expressed how blessed she feels to have worked with Lucille.

Marie described her as a smart woman who had her own studio. She went on to gush over the late lady:

She was beautiful and funny — and I love funny. She was not afraid to put herself out there.

She added:

I’d go over to her [Luccille's] house and she’d play Scrabble, and [I have] just really just great memories.

A heartwarming tribute

In June this year, Marie Osmond commemorated Lucille Ball in the loveliest way. She took to Instagram and posted a throwback photo of them sharing a cozy hug. In the next photo, Ball's expression was compared to viral internet emojis. It was a comical nod to her versatile talent.

It's a delight to see two women so wondrously affecting each other's life. Lucille made her mark on Marie's heart and she did the same with millions of her fans. Share this and send a prayer up above for the late actress.
