The leggy showgirl, Lucille Ball was a model and B-grade movie goddess. Her pumpkin locks and hilarious wits became her identity in the TV industry. Her personality in real life was far more endearing.

Marie Osmond is here to testify the late legend's brilliance and extent of compassion.

The comedy queen passed away at the age of 77 in 1989. She was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center with a complaint of heart complications. Only a week after she underwent surgery for it, Lucille lost her battle to win life. Her abdominal aorta was ruptured.

The recollection of sweet past

The humorist beauty was on season 3 episode 2 of the Donny & Marie show, aired in 1977. While talking to Closer Weekly, the Paper Roses songster expressed how blessed she feels to have worked with Lucille.

Marie described her as a smart woman who had her own studio. She went on to gush over the late lady:

She was beautiful and funny — and I love funny. She was not afraid to put herself out there.

She added:

I’d go over to her [Luccille's] house and she’d play Scrabble, and [I have] just really just great memories.

A heartwarming tribute
