After finishing studies at Georgia Southern University, his father finally urged him to go and chase his dreams.

Another unexplainable loss

In May of 2007, Luke's sister Kelly suddenly passed away at her home. She was a healthy mother to three beautiful children. Even medical experts couldn't determine what happened. The autopsies, the coroner, no one could figure it out.

Bryan had met Kelly only a month earlier when she had come to watch his Grand Ole Opry performance. That night, they took a photo together that became their last memory.

His family failed to make sense of Chris and Kelly's unexpected deaths. The songster revealed in an interview with ABC:

My only older siblings … gone from the world, in a flash in two, two different, crazy, tragic manners that … we’ll never know and never understand.

Adoption of his sister's children

Seven years after Kelly's demise, her husband, Ben Lee Cheshire also expired. Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline didn't think twice before taking their two nieces and a nephew under their wing. The couple has been raising them as their own ever since.
