Martha Stewart rose to fame as an author whose cooking, entertaining, and decorating books inspired women to live better. But her 5-month stint in prison for lying to investigators captured headlines as an unfortunate turn of events in her life.

Sharing on her time in prison with Katie Couric on her podcast, Martha confessed that “no one should ever go through that.” Her take-away from prison life was that it is a horrible experience.

Martha called Felicity Huffman’s prison uniform ‘schlumpy’

After pictures of felicity Huffman’s prison uniform surfaced, Martha Steward had some things to say about her fashion sense. As an ex-convict herself, Martha Steward was quick to suggest that the former Desperate Housewives actor could do better with her prison look.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, the domestic maven who knitted and wore a stylish poncho behind bars said Felicity Huffman lacked style.

She should style her outfit a little bit more. She looked pretty schlumpy.

Huffman, who is serving a 14-day sentence for her engagement in a college admissions scandal, was wearing eyeglasses, a white hat, a dark green button-up, pants, and black Under Armour shoes.

Martha Steward feels sorry for Felicity and Lori

While Martha’s comments might be considered a ‘diss’ by some, she admitted that she feels sorry for Felicity and Lori. Actress Lori Laughlin was also caught up in the admissions probe dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues,” but she pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and money laundering charges.

Speaking to ET, Martha empathized with the two, saying that the hurt they are going through is unimaginable.

It's just embarrassing for a family to go through what they're going through and horrifying that it even occurred... It's a sad thing.
