Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum seemed to be the ideal couple for a long time so their separation came as a surprise to their fan.

Their divorce

Jenna and Channing met and fell in love on the set of Step It Up in 2006 and the couple got married in 2009.

Unfortunately, they announced they were splitting up back in April 2018.

How their marriage ended

Jenna and Channing have kept mum on the topic of their split for a long time. But now the actress us opening up and sharing new details in her new wellness book Gracefully You: How to Live Your Best Life Every Day.

In the book, she wrote about the reasons she and her ex-husband decided to call things off.

I’d come to realize the dynamic I was in wasn’t serving me nor was it serving my daughter.

She went on to add:

First and foremost I had to accept the realization this isn’t working and had moved into hurting.

The pair, who share six-year-old daughter Everly together, eventually decided that it was time to call it quits.

Feeling blindsided

In her book, Jenna also opened up about feeling shocked when she learned that her ex had moved on with singer Jessie J only months after they separated.

There I was, on a plane, alone, finding out about his new relationship. I felt blindsided.

Jenna has since moved on from her marriage as well. She's currently expecting her first child with actor Steve Kazee.

Divorce is a difficult hurdle for anyone to experience and hearing these stories by famous people is a reminder that even when things get tough, there are better days ahead.

Today, she's happy in her relationship and able to discuss the hard times in her past. Hopefully, she and her ex-husband can find happiness in their respective paths.
